Anna tours Bath on vintage bikes and grabs designer cycle bargains!
Jole Rider (pronounced Jolly Rider) is a charity that targets Africa to improve education and wellbeing in young people. This is mainly done by fixing up donated bikes and shipping them to Africa for kids to use for cycling to school. So to find out more, I met their lead mechanic for a bike ride.

Queens Park Forum Bike Club Launch in the Sunshine
Queens Park Forum Bike Club is community based and offers weekly bike maintenance lessons, an earn a bike scheme and a drop in Dr Bike service for local people. Cycling Development Officer for London Frances Chaloner went along to the launch in Westminster.

Blenheim Palace is home to the 11th Duke and Duchess of Marlborough and his family, and the birthplace of Sir Winston Churchill. This year, it was home to a festival of cycling, and what a display it was!

Olympic Mountain Biking Display in Swindon
Saturday 11 August saw the Olympic Cross Country Mountain Bike race shown on the Big Screen in Swindon town centre. The BBC Live Site had displayed all 16 days of the Olympic Games, and when they asked me if I wanted to make “a thing” of mountain biking, of course I jumped at the chance.

New Forest Cycling Week
More than 200 people attended the 2012 New Forest Cycling Rally.
The event, for cyclists of all ages was at Avon Tyrell, the UK Youth Activity Centre. It is an ideal location in the New Forest, with superb facilities, easy access to delightful forest tracks, country parks and the seaside.

Accessible Cycling Day for children with disabilities
Every year Swindon Borough Council create a day of sport aimed at children with a disability or learning difficulty. The day is called Access Day, and this year it was held at the County Ground Athletics Track on Wednesday 4 July. This was a great opportunity to showcase the CTC’s adaptive bikes.

Led rides in Winchester
A series of led rides, due to take place over the summer in Winchester and Fleet has been launched. Designed to help newer riders build their cycling confidence, the rides are part of a programme of activity run by Hampshire County Council, in partnership with CTC.
