UK Youth Avon Tyrrell

UK Youth Avon Tyrrell offers inclusive cycling options as well as other inclusive activities at the Avon Tyrrell Outdoor Activity Centre in the New Forest. They have an accessible cycling track through the forest and adapted bikes can be hired from the centre. Please see CTCs guide to adapted cycles for more information.

 

Activities Available at the Centre

  • The centre hires out bikes to individuals and families.
  • There are a number of cycle tracks available which are suited to different bikes. 
  • They recommend inclusive riders to use the blue route, as this terrain is suitable for adapted bikes. 
  • They have a good selection of adapted cycles and a wide range of two-wheeled bikes too.
  • Their adapted range includes Boma Chairs,  Kettweisel Bike, Pino Bike and a Trets Bike.
  • Booking is essential for both individuals and groups.
  • Led sessions are available for groups up to 8 people, please contact to book and ask for prices.
  • Instructors available to offer advice on bike suitability.

About the Centre

UK Youth Avon Tyrrell Outdoor Activity Centre is a CTC affiliated centre.

Besides inclusive cycling, Avon Tyrell is a fully operational activity centre offering other inclusive activities like climbing, archery, canoeing/kayaking, high and low rope challenges. The centre is experienced in looking after children and young people with disabilities and other challenges. Please contact them for more details, to discuss, or read about their sensitivity with disability groups. 

The centre is set in 65 acres of beautiful grounds in the heart of the New Forest and belongs to the national youth work charity UK Youth. They offer outdoor learning through an extensive range of adventure and field study activities. Both residential and day visit facilities ar available, with a variety of accommodation to chose from. Activities are aimed at schools, families, sport groups and youth groups, disability groups, faith groups and corporate clients.
