200+ Cyclists needed! Prudential RideLondon Cycle Safety Simulation Exercise

200+ Cyclists needed! Prudential RideLonfon Cycle Safety Simulation Exercise
Free Bank Holiday Cycle Event, Parliament Square, London.

A few hundred cyclists are needed this bank holiday to help London's Emergency Services and the Prudential RideLondon organisers run a simulated emergency exercise on the streets of London.

To ensure the safety of participants and supporters of Prudential RideLondon, the organisers have planned a simulated emergency exercise in collaboration with the emergency services.

A ride will start from Bridge Street on the corner of Parliament Square at 8:30am and follow the Bupa 10K route on closed roads for about half a mile, where the simulation will begin.

This emergency exercise is vital to ensure the safety of all and will be very important for the emergency services, as they practice their emergency procedures, entry and exit from the route, whilst surrounded by cyclists.

In attendance along with London's emergency services will be a film crew, so the exercise can be recorded and assessed in detail after completion. This will aid emergency services and the organisers of Prudential RideLondon, to improve contingency plans for the official event on 3rd & 4th August. The video may also be shown to Prudential RideLondon staff and volunteers during their safety briefings.

Please bring along your friends and family for a cycle ride and make Prudential RideLondon a safe event for all to enjoy!

This is a FREE EVENT and people are welcome just to turn up on the day.

Every cyclist who takes part in the exercise will have a chance to win a free entry into the Prudential RideLondon-Surrey 100.
