Cycle Chilterns attend the Herts County Show

Making the most of the sunshine on the Cycle Chilterns stand with Shoretrax at the Herts Show
The sunshine brought out the crowds, with 35,000 people attending over two days. For Cycle Chilterns, the busy show was the perfect opportunity to speak about cycling in the Chilterns.

Cycle Chilterns is a new project and the Herts Show was a fantastic opportunity to get our message out and tell people about who we are and what we are doing, along with our plans for this year and next.

The Shoretrax Portable Mountain Bike Trail gave people a chance to give mountain biking a go. The 60 metre timber track was a hit with riders of all ages and abilities, with 500 riders signing up to have a go on the bikes supplied by Lovelo Cycle Works in Berkhamstead. Having Shoretrax is a great way of giving people a chance to give mountain biking a go.

"With the profile of cycling on the up, it’s great to see the enthusiasm people have for getting out on their bikes and having fun. We had an overwhelming interest in family cycling over the weekend and that’s an area we will certainly be focusing on over the next few months," said CTC’s Sara Randle, the Cycle Chilterns project manager. "There are so many great places to get out and enjoy a cycle ride with the family and it’s a great way to explore the Chilterns.”

The Herts Show is the first of three County Shows that Cycle Chilterns will be attending with Shoretrax in 2013. The next show is the Oxford County and Thame Show on Saturday 13 July and then the Bucks County Show on Thursday 29 August.
