Top 7 placing for Team CTC in Bedford Bank Holiday Race

Team CTC take part in their first event as a team
Team CTC manager Steve Bailey said: “It was a tough Bank Holiday weekend of racing in all that the weather could throw at us” after the riders' first stage race of the year

The ladies showed a great team effort in their first British International race, competing against the best teams in the country and guest teams from overseas.

This was the first stage race of the year in this country, a gruelling test of ability, multi-discipline competence and stamina and a test to stay the course, in true road racing style.

The results were a reward for their hard work, with two individuals, Lydia Boylan and Nicola Juniper in  the top 20 out of 92 starters.  Lydia and Nicola also came in the top six for the points sprint competition and seventh overall in the team competition.

“Some of the long-established teams are now playing catch-up with Team CTC.”

The event was held over three days, in weather ranging from a tropical downpour on Day One to relentless sunshine on the final day - no complaints from the manager! - at the vehicle testing ground at Milbrook; famous for James Bond car chases and Top Gear filming.

Manager Steve added: “Some of the long-established teams are now playing catch-up with Team CTC.”
