A CTC trainer since 1998, Gerard brings with him a considered approach generated from his background in the graphic design process. He looks carefully at the needs and desires of learners and enhances courses accordingly, both at the development and delivery stages.

Gerard has been a CTC Mountain Bike Instructor and Course Trainer for 15 years. He has also instructed a range of adventure activities, so brings a unique cross-discipline outlook and skill base to MTB course delivery allowing him to provide interesting and enjoyable courses.

Gerard has delivered leadership and mountain bike skills courses to a variety of groups nationwide and internationally.

He managed a busy design studio in Halifax for 15 years, an experience he's used to contribute significantly to CTC's course delivery techniques and qualification development.

Since moving to the Isle of Arran, Scotland, 11 years ago, he has submersed himself in Island life, gaining more experience in different roles for various island businesses, groups and associations. As a Retained Firefighter on the island, he contributes the latest in training, development and safety practices to CTC's courses too.
Whilst providing CTC courses and activities when he is available, Gerard's full time role is working for the Arran Distillery producing the Arran Malt Whisky, one of the finest single malt whiskies in the world.
