The CTC are the lead partner for a Local Sustainable Transport Fund project aimed at encouraging more visitors to travel to the Chilterns by rail and to increase cycling within the Chilterns as an alternative to the car.

There's plenty to do in the Chilterns, whether you're an experienced cyclist or just starting out, we've something for everyone:

The Brewery Rides

Popular as every these "Rides with a pint" will continue with more suggested cycle routes, maps and gpx downloads being added. All the latest info is on the Brewery Ride web article.

Health Rides

Join one of our new Health Rides starting in Great Missenden from the end of May until the end of June. A great way to get back into cycling. Find out more on our "Health Rides - get fit, have fun" page. Let us know if you'd like to see more Health rides throughout the year or in a different area and we might add some more dates.

Ladies Only Rides - April to September

Starting in April the rides take place one a month until September. Aimed at ladies who want to get back into cycling, they're short, gentle rides with an emphasis on fun, tea and cake. Read more...

Twyford Station Pop-up Shop - "Station Cycle Solutions" - Every Tuesday

In partnership with Bainton Bikes and First Great Western we are supporting a pop-up shop at Twyford train station. The new venture, 'Station Cycle Solutions' will operate once a week to start with offering bicycle repairs and plan to expand into sales, hire and more and increase the number of days they attend the station.

Women's Tour of Britain in the Chilterns

On Sunday 21st June, the Chilterns will host the final stage of the second Women's Tour of Britain with exciting racing from Marlow to Hemel Hempstead. In 2014, the Chilterns stage of the men's Tour of Britain provided the best stage in the history of the modern tour and is set to do the same for the women. Watch out for a whole host of activities and events taking place over the weekend and during the summer.

Cycle Hire and Electric Bikes at the Cycle Chilterns Bike Hub

There's a new cycle hire provider and e-bike centre based at Great Missenden in Buckinghamshire.

Cycle Routes and Itineraries

We have a list of over 30 cycling routes on the Cycle Routes page of our website. Over the coming months the Cycle Chilterns team will be developing more on and off road cycle routes and suggested route itineraries for a range of abilities. There are already a variety of excellent cycle routes in the area, some of which are signposted and some that can be followed using detailed maps and leaflets.

A list of existing cycle routes and downloadable leaflets is available on the Chilterns AONB website. Local authority websites and local groups also provide information for cyclists and are a good source of cycle routes in the surrounding areas.

Cycle Chilterns summer Bikeability sessions give children more confidence!
