CTC's work in England is focused on particular regions - the Chiltern Hills and the counties of Essex, Hampshire and Leicester - each operating with the purpose of developing cycling at grass roots level by running organised rides, events and training. Further, our Member and Affiliated Groups promote cycling by organising rides, tours, events and training, as well as getting involved in local campaigning.

The CTC are the lead partner for a Local Sustainable Transport Fund project aimed at encouraging more visitors to travel to the Chilterns by rail and to increase cycling within the Chilterns as an alternative to the car.

CTC Cycle Champions in Essex gives people the support and encouragement to get cycling, often for the first time in years and some for the first time ever. It works with communities, groups and clubs to enable cycling to develop at a grass-roots level.

CTC is working with MyJourney, in Hampshire, to encourage cycling as one of a range of alternative travel choices for their everyday journeys.

Leicester is a city famous for its diversity, including the diversity of its cycling. The CTC Cycle Champions Project has worked with the city council to offer a range of cycling in specific areas.
